Mutasim Billah completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Sociology from Jagannath University. For his Master’s thesis, he studied the health and safety experiences of gig workers in Dhaka city. He now works as a Research Assistant at Dr. Khan Social Impact Lab (SI Lab), where he also serves as the lab’s coordinator. Mutasim is involved in several research projects on topics such as gig work, critical pedagogy, program evaluation, workplace health and safety, and sex education. He was the first student from the Department of Sociology at Jagannath University to receive the “Emerging Leadership Award,” which recognized his contributions to civic engagement and co-curricular activities.
